This Weekend!
In case you are unaware, one of New Haven's most popular and exciting street festivals is going to happen this weekend on Saturday.
There will be vendors and tables as well as live music and other activities.
Festival kicks off at 11am and runs until 8pm in the evening. Be there!
We'd Like to thank Romeo Especially!
Last year, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Susan Clinard, local sculptor and resident artist at the Eli Whitney Museum, made a high-relief portrait plaque of NHFD member who died in the line of duty in 2005.
This year, festival Chair and Co-Chair, Ray Saracco and Cherie Woodworth, suggested that she sculpt Romeo Simone, the festival's first patron.

Marvel at the great resemblance, enjoy the Do-It-Yourself iced coffee station, get some Foxon Park and Deep River Snacks, maybe even play some Foosball with the local youngsters. It all goes on everyday at Romeo and Cesares.

Tercero Cruz: Spoon Maker
This is the type of vendor who makes EastRockFest everything it was meant to be. Tercero Cruz speaks about how he feels regarding the experience of making spoons using only hand tools, versus using power tools. He speaks from experience! Watch him turn a log into a spoon. You try stirring pasta with a log! Not likely! Get thee a spoon and listen to the words of a spoonmaster.

Climbing is Fun!
Thanks to the New Haven Parks Department, the East Rock Festival was able to obtain a climbing wall for the event. Local climber DeLeon Moore, 6, makes his ascent in this HD 720p video (click settings on the YouTube player for highest quality). DeLeon goes to Clarence Rogers School, and his parents were very proud of him. They cheered, "Don't fall, you're little brother is watching!"

This year’s Street festival will kick off at 11 A.M. and end at 8 P.M. The festival entertainment will be live music, dancing acts, and much more. There will be two stages on either end of the festival, so there will be constant entertainment. The food vendors will highlight the best restaurants and eateries in the East Rock area. There will be canopies where attendees can enjoy their food and soak in the atmosphere. There will also be children’s games, face-painting, and other children activities.
The festival is FREE! and open to the public. Please come down and enjoy what the East Rock community has to offer.

The Mission of the East Rock Festival is to showcase the East Rock community and its surrounding businesses in an effort to promote community participation and organization.

The East Rock Festival takes place on Orange Street in New Haven between Willow Street and Cottage Street.
